Instructional Tutorials: “Learn How To…” use the library resources with interactive or multimedia instructional materials which include such topics as: how to search and use the Internet, how to evaluate and cite sources correctly, how to avoid plagiarism, developing research and writing skills.
Articles & More: More than 140 subscription databases are accessible to students and faculty. Many of these databases offer full-text material or links to full-text material. Hundreds of online journals, newspapers and periodicals are available to research a wide range of topics either by journal title or subject.
E-books/NetLibrary: UMUC provides a growing collection of full-text books online.
Ask a Librarian: Assistance from a librarian is available 24/7 via email, Instant Messaging (IM), or telephone.
Technical Help: Technical help is available by email or telephone for help with such areas as login/barcode questions, browser and databases issues, and wireless connection.
Get It Delivered: Full-text journal articles, book chapters, and tables of contents that are not accessible in an ILS database can be delivered electronically in PDF format upon request using the Document Express feature.
Faculty Services: Librarians are available to meet the special needs of faculty through workshops, online class visits, e-reserves, a plagiarism detection service (Turnitin.com), and interlibrary book loans.
